Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak met with representatives of Ukrainian and foreign media to discuss the results of the second consultations of national security advisors and political directors of foreign ministries on the key principles of restoring a lasting and just peace for Ukraine, which took place on August 5-6 in the Saudi city of Jeddah.
Members of the Ukrainian delegation, including Deputy Heads of the Office of the President Andriy Sybiha and Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Foreign Minister Mykola Tochytskyi, and Advisors to the Head of the Presidential Office Daria Zarivna and Oleksandr Bevz, took part in the conversation with the media.
According to Andriy Yermak, all the representatives of the states present declared their full support and respect for Ukraine's independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty.
"Everyone understands the need for a joint plan of the civilized world to end this war," the Head of the Presidential Office noted.
Andriy Yermak emphasized that all the speeches of the Ukrainian delegation clearly emphasized the need to withdraw Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine, which is one of the points of the Peace Formula.
In addition, the Head of the President's Office noted that the meeting in Jeddah of representatives of more than 40 countries without Russia's participation dealt a huge blow to the Kremlin. So now the Russian leadership is trying to disinform the international community about the results of these consultations.
According to Andriy Yermak, the participants of the meeting in Jeddah agreed to hold the next round of consultations. This was endorsed by all parties. Ukraine is now actively working to expand the number of participating states.
"In the near future, we will hold the next meeting of advisors. And we will gradually move towards holding the Global Peace Summit," he said.
The peace summit will be inaugural, said the Head of the Presidential Office. It is to adopt Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Peace Formula as a basis.
"After that, state leaders can give the green light for separate international conferences and summits dedicated to each of the points of the Peace Formula," the Head of the Presidential Office added.
After the end of hostilities, an international document will be adopted that will record the end of the war and Ukraine's victory. It will be approved at the Global Peace Summit, which will bring together all the countries participating in the process and will consolidate the implementation of the last, tenth point of the Formula and, as a result, the establishment of a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.
In addition, Andriy Yermak reminded that negotiations with the United States of America on a bilateral agreement on providing security guarantees to Ukraine on its way to NATO, as stipulated in the Joint Declaration of Support for our country, have begun.
"We have also agreed with all the countries that signed the Vilnius declaration and joined it to start similar consultations. They will start this month or next month. Moreover, we hope that the first agreements can be signed by the end of this year. These security guarantees are like air defense against a future world war," he said.
The Head of the President's Office emphasized that the meeting in Saudi Arabia was a rehearsal of the political map of the world, in which there is no place for barbaric aggression.
"Ukraine brings peace to this world. And it is Ukraine, which has shown that it knows how to fight, defend its independence and freedom, that has come up with this peace initiative. Today, no one needs to be convinced, this peace initiative exists, and we are working on it. And the aggressor state is very annoyed when negotiations are held without it. Indeed, our strategy to isolate the aggressor, the terrorist state, has gained very strong support," summarized Andriy Yermak.
