Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva held a meeting with Director for Security Policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands Wouter Jurgens and Director for Europe at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands Erik Weststrate.
Ihor Zhovkva expressed gratitude to the Netherlands for its steadfast support of Ukraine during the 1,000 days of resistance to Russia's full-scale aggression. He specifically highlighted the Netherlands' military, financial, and humanitarian aid totaling nearly €9 billion, as well as its significant contribution to strengthening Ukraine’s missile defense system.
The discussions placed special focus on Ukraine’s security situation amidst intensified Russian missile strikes as winter approaches. Both parties agreed to continue working with partners to enhance the protection of Ukraine’s airspace.
The meeting also addressed deepening bilateral cooperation in weapons production and strengthening collective security in Europe.
"In Europe, we need to invest more in meeting defense needs and allocate greater resources to security. We are grateful to the Netherlands for its interest in supporting Ukrainian weapons production. We are counting on a corresponding contribution to ramping up its production," noted Ihor Zhovkva.
Advisors to the Head of the Office of the President Dariia Zarivna and Oleksandr Bevz also met with the delegation of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representatives of the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue, including David Gorman, Cristian Bobocea, and Stanislav Sereda. The parties discussed the implementation of the Peace Formula, pathways to achieving a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace for Ukraine, and agreed on next steps to bolster support for Ukraine in the face of escalating aggression from the Kremlin regime.
