Poland is ready to fully support Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy following the meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda in Warsaw. In particular, the joint declaration signed today by the leaders of Ukraine and Poland on Warsaw's support for Kyiv's European aspirations is important.
"Our bilateral meeting ended today with the signing of a joint declaration on the European prospect for Ukraine, i.e. belonging to the EU. In this issue, Poland has always supported Ukraine," Andrzej Duda said at a joint briefing on the results of bilateral talks.
On behalf of the Ukrainian people, Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated Poland on the occasion of the 230th anniversary of the 3 May Constitution and noted that this date is a great holiday both for the Polish people and for the whole of Europe.
The Ukrainian President also invited the President and the First Lady of Poland to participate in the Crimean Platform Summit, which will take place during the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence in August this year.
"It is also very important for us because this will be the first important summit with the participation of our friends and partners related to the deoccupation of the Ukrainian Crimea," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
In addition, according to the President of Ukraine, during the talks, the Polish counterpart once again stressed his support for the European and European integration aspirations of the Ukrainian state.
"This is a very important signal. I am grateful that Poland, led by President Duda, always protects our sovereignty and territorial integrity, and does not accept the occupation of the Ukrainian peninsula," the President said.
He also noted that the historical issues pending between the two countries will soon be resolved, as both sides strive for that.
"Because we really understand one another very well," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
