President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone call with Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk.
The President thanked the Polish people for their solidarity with Ukraine since the first days of Russia’s full-scale invasion and expressed personal gratitude to the Prime Minister for his principled reaction to the latest Russian missile strikes and attempts to end the political isolation of the Russian dictator.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Tusk discussed continued defense cooperation. The Prime Minister informed that Poland is preparing to deliver its 45th support package and has already begun work on the next defense package.
Special attention was given to expectations from Poland’s upcoming presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of next year. The President expressed hope for Poland’s support in negotiations with the European Union to open the first cluster of negotiations and advance parallel discussions on other clusters.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the Prime Minister for leveraging his extensive personal contacts to advocate for Ukraine’s NATO membership and continued defense support.
The leaders agreed to intensify personal communication and hold a meeting by the end of this year.
