The Ukrainian delegation, including Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Oleksiy Reznikov and member of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG Andriy Kostin took part in a meeting of political advisors to the leaders of the member states of the Normandy format on Friday in Berlin.

The Ukrainian delegation also included representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Security Service of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian party thanked the organizers of the meeting for mediation and providing a platform for negotiations.

The Ukrainian delegation reaffirmed the great desire of the Ukrainian people to establish peace on our land.

The participants of the meeting discussed the process of implementation of the agreements reached by the leaders of the "Normandy Four" following the summit in Paris in December 2019, and the details of the talks in the Minsk Trilateral Contact Group.

The participants supported Ukraine's call for comprehensive measures to continue a sustainable and comprehensive ceasefire.

According to Andriy Yermak, Ukraine will do everything to preserve the truce and prevent it from being disrupted.

"We are interested more than anyone else in preventing casualties among Ukrainian servicemen and civilians, as has been the case for six years in a row," the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine said.

During a meeting, great attention was paid to the issue of mutual release of detainees and ensuring full and unimpeded access of the International Committee of the Red Cross to such persons.

The implementation of the proposals provided by the Ukrainian side gives grounds to expect progress in the access of international human rights organizations to detainees in the near future.

The parties agreed to meet in the format of advisors to the leaders of the Normandy Four countries in the coming weeks and continue discussions on the implementation of the Paris agreements and preparations for the Berlin Summit in the Normandy format.
