Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva had a phone call with Foreign and European Policy Adviser to the Federal Chancellor of the Republic of Austria Barbara Kaudel-Jensen.
The diplomats discussed the results of the meeting of the leaders' security policy advisers and political advisers held on October 28 in Malta. In this context, Ihor Zhovkva thanked Austria and Barbara Kaudel-Jensen personally for the support and active participation in the process of developing the principles for implementing the Peace Formula of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The interlocutors exchanged views on joint further steps on this path, as well as the prerequisites for holding the inaugural Global Peace Summit, which will launch the implementation of each of the ten points of the Ukrainian peace plan.
The parties paid special attention to the European integration of Ukraine. The Deputy Head of the Presidential Office informed his Austrian counterpart in detail about the further steps of our country to fully implement the recommendations of the European Commission to enable the start of negotiations on accession to the EU.
"We are grateful to Austria for supporting Ukraine on its path to EU integration. Our ambitious goal is to fully implement the recommendations of the European Commission in the coming weeks. We are counting on Austria's support for the European Council's decision to open negotiations on Ukraine's membership in the EU at the summit in December this year. This is an important component of Ukraine's future victory," emphasized Ihor Zhovkva.
