President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a meeting with the Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria, Beate Meinl-Reisinger, and the Minister of State and Foreign Affairs of Portugal, Paulo Rangel.
The Head of State thanked for the support of the Ukrainian people in the fight for freedom and independence.
The President shared information on the efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace, particularly on the meeting between the Ukrainian and American teams in Jeddah. Ukraine is ready for the first swift steps toward peace and is making every effort for this.
The parties discussed the continuation of support for Ukraine within the bilateral security agreement with Portugal. In particular, our state is interested in assistance with the development of the Ukrainian defense industry and counts on Portugal's financial support for the Czech initiative to purchase shells for Ukraine.
The President proposed Austria to start a dialogue on a bilateral agreement on long-term support for Ukraine. According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, its content would not contradict the country’s neutral status.
In addition, they discussed Austria's and Portugal's support for the reconstruction of schools, the creation of school shelters, the restoration of energy infrastructure, and the promotion of the Food from Ukraine humanitarian initiative.
