Support for Relocated Businesses, Loan Programs, and Energy Supply: Key Takeaways from President’s Meeting with Zakarpattia Business Representatives

In Uzhhorod, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with business representatives from the Zakarpattia region in the framework of the “Made in Ukraine” economic platform.

“Zakarpattia is developing. Due to the war, many people have relocated here, and a large number of relocated businesses are now operating in this region,” stated the President.

He noted that local businesses are collaborating with both central and regional authorities, while relocated companies are creating jobs within the region.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also spoke with business owners, including representatives from relocated companies from Kharkiv, Melitopol, Dnipro, and Nikopol.

During the meeting, they discussed support for relocated businesses, expanding the “Affordable Loans 5-7-9%” program to benefit local enterprises, launching targeted loan programs, ensuring uninterrupted energy supply for businesses, and reserving staff.

First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko highlighted that Zakarpattia has become a leader in hosting relocated businesses, with around 400 such companies officially registered in the region.

The number of new companies is also rising. Compared to January 1, 2022, there are 3,000 more companies in the region now, with leading sectors being machinery, metalworking, woodworking, and agriculture.

Under the “Made in Ukraine” business support initiative, over 45 billion UAH was allocated this year, with at least 530 million UAH specifically earmarked for Zakarpattia.

“Manufacturers in the region are already taking full advantage of these tools, including affordable loans, grants, and the industrial park development program. We expect all programs under the ‘Made in Ukraine’ policy to be extended into next year,” Yuliia Svyrydenko stated.
