President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone call with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The President expressed gratitude for organizing the Ministerial Conference on the Human Dimension of the Peace Formula, which took place in Montreal on October 30-31.
"I’m grateful to you, Justin, to your team, and to everyone involved for successfully hosting the thematic conference on the fourth point of the Peace Formula, ‘Release of Prisoners and Deported Persons.’ The next stage is to prepare a final document – the Peace Plan – summarizing the outcomes of all thematic conferences,” said the President.
The leaders discussed cooperation on organizing the Second Peace Summit and engaging countries from the Global South in this effort.
Justin Trudeau reaffirmed his support for the Victory Plan, which the Ukrainian delegation presented to the Prime Minister of Canada on the sidelines of the conference upon the instructions of Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Prime Minister announced the dispatch of the first NASAMS air defense system, ordered by Canada, which is expected to arrive in Ukraine by the end of this year.
The leaders also discussed continued defense support for Ukraine and the battlefield situation, specifically North Korea’s involvement in the war.
They also coordinated cooperation in the framework of Canada's upcoming presidency of the G7 next year.
