President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a video conversation with President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel.
The Ukrainian leader spoke about his participation in the European Council Summit and negotiations with Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala in Brussels; he also thanked the Czech leaders and people for their unity in supporting Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy provided an update on the situation in various directions of the front. The Presidents thoroughly discussed the capabilities of allies to train Ukrainian brigades, following the examples of France and the United States.
The President of Ukraine stressed that the brigades should be trained with the weapons and equipment they will use after their return to Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also described the consequences of this morning's Russian shelling of Kyiv and voiced Ukraine's defense needs for various types of air defense systems and armored vehicles.
The leaders also addressed the implementation of the Czech initiative to supply artillery shells this year and agreed to work with partners on ensuring uninterrupted funding in 2025.
The Ukrainian leader expressed gratitude for the Czech Republic's active involvement in all efforts that strengthen Ukraine and bring a just peace closer.
In addition, the parties discussed the possibility of opening a representative office for the newly established Ministry of National Unity in the Czech Republic.
