Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Taoiseach Simon Harris in Shannon.
"Thank you for the condolences expressed over the Russian attack on the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital in Kyiv. Such crimes prove one thing: we need even more help from our partners. And we would be very grateful if you could take Ukrainian children with cancer, who cannot continue their treatment in Ukraine, to Ireland for treatment," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The President praised Ireland's support for the Peace Summit and spoke of steps to implement its decisions, such as holding conferences on nuclear safety and food security, as well as the release of all prisoners and deportees.
The Head of State thanked the Taoiseach of Ireland for his willingness to personally contribute to the return of Ukrainian children home. The leaders discussed steps to increase the world's attention to the crime of their illegal deportation by Russia.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Simon Harris agreed on the visit of Ireland's Taoiseach to Kyiv this year and on intensifying work on a bilateral security agreement so that it could be signed during his visit to the Ukrainian capital.
During the meeting, the President expressed the need to build shelters for our educational institutions.
The parties also discussed further cooperation in demining and cybersecurity, as well as Ukraine's EU accession negotiation process. Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Ukraine is interested in Ireland's experience and advisory support.
