The Foundation of the President of Ukraine for Support of Education, Science and Sports, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and Cormack Consultancy Group together with Mosaik Education announced a competition with a total budget of £770,000.
The £80,000 grants will be provided to create a master's dual degree program between a Ukrainian and a British university as part of the Twinning initiative.
The dual degree programs between Ukrainian and British universities were first launched in Ukraine in 2023. At that time, six pairs of higher education institutions opened their doors to masters who, studying in Ukraine and completing the course, would simultaneously receive two diplomas – Ukrainian and British. This year, the number of such universities and programs will be expanded.
Graduates of the program will have the necessary competencies to restore the Ukrainian economy and priority areas of state reconstruction in the coming years. In addition, the close cooperation required to develop the dual degree program helps to enhance the potential of Ukrainian universities, increases their competitiveness and contributes to the quality of education in Ukrainian universities.
"After the first year of launching the dual degree programs, we see a high level of interest in the initiative from both Ukrainian universities and students. Currently, 112 students are enrolled in the programs. And their number is expected to increase: on the one hand, Ukrainian students receive internationally recognized higher education and acquire competencies relevant to the modern world while staying in Ukraine. On the other hand, our universities gain exceptional experience of cooperation with the leaders of British higher education and develop international ties, which in the future will allow us to attract foreign students to joint programs," said Advisor – Commissioner of the President of Ukraine on the Presidential Foundation for Support of Education, Science and Sports Olha Budnyk.
Applications will be accepted until 23:00 February 17, 2024. Notifications of the results will be sent to the winners by March 1 of this year. The program is expected to end no later than September 30, 2026.
The competitive selection is carried out by: Mosaik Education, XTX Markets, Universities UK International, Cormack Consultancy Group (UK); the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Presidential Foundation for Support of Education, Science and Sports.
