Before the extraordinary session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the heads of the parliamentary factions "Servant of the People", "Batkivshchyna", "Opposition Platform - For Life", "Voice" and "European Solidarity", as well as deputy groups "For the Future" and "Trust". The Head of State stressed the importance of the presence of all deputies at the extraordinary meeting, as Ukraine is facing great challenges and the Parliament must help overcome them.
“You see how difficult the situation in the world and in Ukraine is. We do a lot to protect Ukrainians from coronavirus. But the issue is not just about masks and medicine. We need to protect the economy, adopt a number of initiatives to help businesses, employees of important enterprises, and socially vulnerable groups. I ask the deputies to come and vote for the proposed initiatives on Saturday. It is their responsibility to help Ukrainians in such difficult times,” the President said.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the MPs discussed the possible agenda and spoke in detail about the initiatives to save the economy and support Ukraine. He also informed of the measures taken by the state to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
