Olena Zelenska met with women – ambassadors of foreign countries to Ukraine

First Lady Olena Zelenska held an informal meeting with women – ambassadors of foreign countries to Ukraine. In particular, the meeting was attended by Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Ukraine Melinda Simmons, Ambassador of Argentina Elena Leticia Teresa Mikusinski, Ambassador of Canada Larisa Galadza, United States Chargés d'affaires ad interim to Ukraine Kristina Kvien, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Anka Feldhusen, Ambassador of Finland Päivi Maarit Laine, Ambassador of Croatia Anica Djamić and Ambassador of Montenegro to Ukraine Dragica Ponorac.

The idea of a new format of cooperation - informal meetings - belongs to the British Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons, who invited women – diplomats to meet regularly to discuss topical social issues and closer cooperation between their countries and Ukraine.

At the meeting, Olena Zelenska and the ambassadors discussed top-priority humanitarian aspects and social projects for the First Lady of Ukraine, as well as identified potential opportunities for cooperation. In particular, all participants stressed the importance of uniting efforts in the fight against domestic and gender-based violence and creating equal opportunities for all citizens, positively assessing Ukraine’s success in this direction. Ambassador of Finland to Ukraine Päivi Maarit Laine gladly responded to Olena Zelenska's request for expert assistance from Finnish experts in reforming the school nutrition system in Ukraine: Finland is a recognized world leader in the organization of healthy and high-quality school nutrition. The First Lady also gained the backing of international partners in expanding the network of Ukrainian-language audio guides in the world's largest museums and cultural monuments.
