First Lady Olena Zelenska took part in the opening of the largest educational festival in Ukraine, Teachers of the Future, organized by NGO Osvitoria. The theme of this year's event was "The Power of Education in Time of War."
"A teacher conducting a lesson from a basement under bombardment is just as much a symbol of our defense as a soldier on the front line or a rescuer at the site of an attack. Every teacher's story now is unique, dramatic, and deserves to be told. It is said that a teacher should be an example. You have already become such an example for your students," noted the First Lady.
This year's festival includes around 100 events, panel discussions, presentations, lectures, and workshops. Among the participants are teachers and school administrative staff, representatives of state institutions, including the Ministry of Education and Science, entrepreneurs in the field of educational technology, and representatives of domestic and international non-governmental organizations.
"We always emphasize that recovery must start with people. And you are already doing this every day. You restore children's faith in the world and in us, adults, giving them hope and showing them prospects. Your inspiration helps them be resilient, and therefore, their families, and all of us," said Olena Zelenska, addressing the educators.
