Olena Zelenska: When Very Different People Feel Comfortable Together, This Is Called Inclusion

First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska visited the summer day inclusive camp "Cosmocamp: Space for Everyone."

Together with the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights and Child Rehabilitation, Daria Herasymchuk, and the founder of the NGO "See With Your Heart," Olesia Iaskevych, she talked with the children and project curators, and participated in drawing and creative workshops.

"All this is not just summer entertainment but a step towards enabling very different children to fully learn and communicate in society, to become included in life rather than excluded. We need more projects and places like Cosmocamp. When very different people feel comfortable together, this is called inclusion," said Olena Zelenska.

Cosmocamp is an annual project by the NGO "See With Your Heart," which since 2016 has involved nearly a thousand children, including 100 this year.

Among the camp participants are children aged three to 18 with severe developmental, visual, and hearing impairments; those who have lost one or both parents due to the war; internally displaced persons (IDPs); and children without disabilities. Their curators – teachers, bloggers, translators, and financiers – undergo special training before working with the children.
