Olena Zelenska: the Fourth Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen Will Not Only Raise the Issue of Child Safety, But Also Will Find Effective Answers

The wife of the President of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, held video conversations with the First Lady of Finland, Suzanne Innes-Stubb, and the First Gentleman of Slovenia, Aleš Musar.

They discussed the fourth Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen that will be held in Kyiv this fall.

The First Lady of Ukraine emphasized that the Summit would focus on child safety.

"This issue is extremely painful not only for us but for the entire world. Every country has its own security context and security challenges. And every country has its own solutions to current threats. But we are all united by a common goal – for every child to be and feel safe," she said.

Olena Zelenska noted that the Summit's thematic panels will address the issue of child safety during armed conflicts. The safety of children in the family, at school and in virtual space will also be discussed.

The First Lady of Finland expressed her willingness to join the panel "Safety at School".

"Studies have shown that Finnish students have lower levels of stress and anxiety than students in many other countries. This is partly due to government programs for mental health support. After all, safety is both being safe and feeling safe," Olena Zelenska said.

The First Gentleman of Slovenia will join the panel "Safety of the Younger Generation in Virtual Dimension".

"We will discuss all the threats that can appear on the Internet and in the media and ways to overcome them. One of the mental self-defense skills that young people in Ukraine and around the world need to master is to distinguish truth from lies and to resist manipulation. I hope that the Summit, as always, will provide the world with effective answers to these difficult questions," Olena Zelenska said.
