Deputy Head of the Office of the President Oleksiy Kuleba met with the new Head of the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross to Ukraine Jürg Eglin.
The parties discussed the issue of further cooperation, as well as compliance with the fundamental norms of international humanitarian law amid violation by the aggressor state of all the principles of waging war.
The Deputy Head of the President's Office thanked the representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross for helping Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression.
"Evacuation of people from the combat zone and occupied regions, humanitarian, medical and financial assistance - Ukraine highly appreciates the role of the International Committee of the Red Cross in overcoming the consequences of Russia's war against Ukraine. Your help has proved to be a real salvation for millions of civilians," said Oleksiy Kuleba.
In addition, the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office expressed his belief in strengthening cooperation. In particular, in the restoration of life in the de-occupied regions, as well as in meeting the needs of internally displaced persons and children of Ukraine.
"Our priority is also to return all Ukrainian prisoners of war, provide them with humanitarian aid and medicines, including those held in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine," added Oleksiy Kuleba.
For his part, Head of the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross to Ukraine Jürg Eglin expressed willingness for further cooperation.
"When I arrived in Ukraine, I saw with my own eyes the incredible suffering of people. In order to continue to help Ukrainians in the best possible way with humanitarian aid, I am committed to further deepening our cooperation with the Office of the President of Ukraine," said Jürg Eglin.
