The Presidential Office Initiates New Approaches to Work of International Humanitarian Organizations in Ukraine

Deputy Head of the Office of the President Iryna Vereshchuk took part in a coordination meeting on humanitarian support for Ukrainians.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and embassies of Austria, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Denmark, the European Union, India, Ireland, Italy, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Poland, the Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, the United States, Türkiye, Finland, France, Croatia, Switzerland and Japan.

Iryna Vereshchuk thanked the international partners for their support and outlined key areas for improvement.

“We need to adapt our approaches to humanitarian work in order to ensure that donor funds have the greatest possible impact on people. Given the constraints on international funding, we need to set clear priorities and act in a coordinated manner,” she emphasized.

To increase efficiency, a coordination platform will be established at the Office of the President. It will bring together representatives of donor countries, international and Ukrainian humanitarian organizations, state and local authorities. The goal is to coordinate priorities, plans and budgets, as well as to monitor and control the implementation of programs.

“We must act in such a way that everyone who has lost their relatives, health or homes feels the support of the state and international partners,” Iryna Vereshchuk noted.
