Current figures allow us to consider future stages of quarantine mitigation - President

The President's Office hosted a traditional conference call chaired by Volodymyr Zelenskyy on preventing the spread of coronavirus. It was attended by representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers and law enforcement agencies.

The Ministry of Health reported that the number of patients with pneumonia is declining.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal noted that Europe adheres to quarantine restrictions, albeit with mitigation.

The parties discussed measures taken by other countries to safely exit quarantine, as well as possible stages of restrictions mitigation in Ukraine.

"Current figures allow us to consider future stages of quarantine mitigation and move forward with planning. However, we need to monitor the situation: the figures may change. We cannot allow large outbreaks of coronavirus," the President of Ukraine said.

It was announced at the meeting that 569 food markets already operate.

It bears reminding that as of May 12, 16,023 laboratory confirmed cases of COVID-19 are recorded in Ukraine.
