Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva held a meeting with State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany Thomas Bagger.
During the meeting, they discussed the security situation in Ukraine and the state of critical infrastructure amid intensified mass Russian attacks.
Ihor Zhovkva expressed gratitude to Germany for the European leadership in providing military assistance to Ukraine. The total amount of support has now exceeded €12 billion.
"I would like to especially highlight Germany's significant contribution to strengthening Ukraine's missile defense, particularly with the Patriot and IRIS-T systems, which save millions of lives in Ukraine every day. We are counting on no less support from Germany next year," he emphasized.
They also discussed Ukraine’s vision for achieving a just peace, focusing on obtaining reliable guarantees from partners.
"The best security guarantee for Ukraine is NATO membership. We count on strong political decisions from the Alliance countries regarding Ukraine's invitation to join NATO," the Deputy Head of the Office of the President noted.
Other topics included the implementation of a bilateral security agreement and prospects for expanding cooperation in weapons production in Ukraine.
