At a forthcoming meeting with US President Joe Biden, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy will raise the issues of cooperation in the defense sphere, the security situation in Donbas and the Black Sea Region, as well as cooperation with the IMF and reforms. The Head of State noted this in an interview to VIP with Natalia Moseychuk program on 1+1 TV channel.
"We have several blocks that we need to discuss. In particular, it is a security block. I reaffirm that this is not just a matter of the MAP, it is a matter of our bilateral relations, a matter of a defense memorandum between our countries. The issue of Nord Stream 2 - I'm sure it's a security issue, I combine it. The issue of Donbas. The issues of Crimea and security on the coasts of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. The issue of the Ukrainian fleet," the President said.
In particular, according to him, he will touch upon the issue of increasing military aid. In this context, Volodymyr Zelenskyy refuted the disinformation that the United States had frozen the provision of military aid to Ukraine.
"Today, there is an official response from the White House, where they say that this (information about the freezing of aid - ed.) is pure fake. Military aid has definitely been increased," the Head of State stressed.
Economic issues will also be raised during the meeting with the US President.
"The support of the IMF is very important for us. But I want to move from politics specifically to the economy and reforms. And to the fact that there are some structural beacons, and if we agree on them, we are partners with the IMF," said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
In addition, the President noted that the talks in the White House will be preceded by his meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin, which will also touch upon all these pressing issues. In particular, Volodymyr Zelenskyy will emphasize the threats posed by the launch of the Nord Stream 2 project.
