In Washington, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic, Giorgia Meloni.
The Head of State expressed gratitude for making Ukraine's defense capabilities and reconstruction priority issues during Italy's G7 presidency this year.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared information about the situation on the frontlines and the Russian aerial terror against Ukrainian cities, including the attack on the leading children's hospital "Okhmatdyt" in Kyiv.
The leaders discussed Ukraine's primary needs, especially regarding air defense, the results of the first Peace Summit, as well as preparations for the second Summit and the next Ukraine Recovery Conference, which will take place in Italy in 2025.
During the meeting, special attention was paid to the outcomes of the NATO Summit in Washington, which marked another significant step towards Ukraine's future membership in the Alliance.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented Giorgia Meloni with the Order of Freedom for her significant personal contribution to strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and Italy, and supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
