During a working trip to the Khmelnytskyi region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy inspected the reconstruction of the section of the P-48 Kam'yanets'-Podil's'kyi - Sataniv - Viitivtsi - Bilohir'ya road, which is being restored in the framework of the National Program “Great Construction”.
The repair started pursuant to the instruction of the President, which he gave during a previous trip to the Khmelnytskyi region.
"When you came, you said: “Let's do it”. The task was set on June 3, and we will have done it by the end of the season,” Head of the State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) Oleksandr Kubrakov told the President.
In total, 217.6 km of state roads and 137 km of local roads are planned to be repaired in the region this year. The President instructed to increase the number of renovated local roads.
"It is very important now," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
The Head of State was also informed about the reconstruction of the highway of international importance M-12 Stryi - Rohatyn - Berezhany - Ternopil - Khmelnytskyi - Vinnytsia - Kropyvnytskyi - Znam'yanka. It passes through the territory of Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy and Kirovohrad regions. Major repair is being carried out on 96 km of the road within the Khmelnytskyi region, of which 56 km are being repaired at the expense of the state budget and 42 km in the framework of Ukravtodor's cooperation with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD). The work is planned to be completed next year.
According to Oleksandr Kubrakov, the M-12 should become a real highway of the country, the length of the road is almost 750 km.
According to him, first they plan to repair the most problematic sections of the road and launch traffic there, and then they will expand the route to the first category.
