During a working trip to the Rivne region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy got himself acquainted with the work of the regional antitumor center, which provides a third of all highly specialized oncological, organizational and methodological assistance to the population of the region.
Currently, the regional antitumor center is the only institution in the north-western region of the country that has buildings typical for similar European-style facilities, high-tech equipment and highly qualified personnel for almost the entire cycle of treatment of tumor pathology.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that it is necessary to develop a system of early diagnosis of cancer in our country. After all, many Ukrainians often ignore minor symptoms and do not seek medical attention in the early stages of the disease.
"Thousands of lives can be saved every year if there are more early diagnoses. One of the key tasks of medical reform should be the ability to provide affordable treatment of even the most complex diseases for all Ukrainians," the President said.
