Local elections should be hold after the completion of the decentralization reform. This was stated by Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Bohdan during a briefing on July 30.
"We have a problem of unfinished local government reform. Some of the elections to the United territorial community took place, some did not take place. It would be absolutely logical to complete the formation of the United territorial community, and then to hold re-elections. But making such a decision is a matter of dialogue with the deputies," Andriy Bohdan noted.
In addition, he stressed that the holding of pre-term elections is impossible without the adoption of the relevant law.
Andriy Bohdan also added that decentralization reform should be completed as it was planned, with the strengthening of the role of communities in addressing the issues of their life-sustaining activity.
