Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Iryna Vereshchuk chaired a meeting on the implementation of the MSEC reform.
The meeting included government officials, representatives from the Office of the President of Ukraine, the National Security and Defense Council, and organizations advocating for people with disabilities.
The primary topic was the Ministry of Health’s draft law on reforming the disability status determination system and dissolving the MSEC, which will soon be reviewed in a parliamentary session.
Representatives from the Ministry of Health spoke about the introduction of a system for assessing individuals' daily functional capabilities to determine disability status. They also proposed a plan for digitalizing the process, set to roll out in three stages, with the first stage starting on January 1 of the upcoming year.
The meeting also addressed the reform of military medical commissions, aiming to reduce bureaucracy and create a transparent process for completing these evaluations. This would help reduce queues and ease the commission’s workload. Within the next two weeks, the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Health, and Ministry of Digital Transformation will outline steps for digitalizing the military medical commissions.
