We have become better at protecting our doctors - President

The incidence of COVID-19 in Ukraine has increased to 58 per 100,000 population. However, the use of ventilators is quite low - only 6.5%. This was announced to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a traditional conference call on preventing the spread of coronavirus.

The Head of State praised the level of patient care and doctors’ protection.

"We have quite good patient care. After all, both the level of the use of ventilators and the mortality rate are quite low. We have also become better at protecting health workers. If in mid-April health workers amounted to one-fifth of the number of infected, now this figure is 9.5%. Every patient should receive all the necessary care, but doctors should be protected the most, because they are at the forefront," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

At the same time, the government is preparing for the second wave of the epidemic.

The national police reported that in the last 24 hours they have drawn up 484 protocols concerning public institutions, such as restaurants, nightclubs and others, where quarantine violations had been recorded.
