The village reform and the implementation of the New Village program were discussed at a meeting chaired by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Oleksiy Reznikov, Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Chernyshov, Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Ihor Petrashko, Minister of Youth and Sports Vadym Gutzayt, Deputy Head of the President's Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko, Adviser to the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Oleksandr Marinov.
"We have already seen the project implemented at “Shchastya” checkpoint. The first New Village projects must be implemented on the frontline, and then throughout Ukraine. We must breathe new life into the Ukrainian village. Villagers must receive quality service directly at their place of residence and have access to modern infrastructure," the President said.
The Head of State noted that it is impossible to bring the village to a qualitatively new level of development by services alone. Therefore, the New Village program provides for the development of agro-industrial complex, including livestock. Thus, it is planned to reduce the volume of imports of livestock products, increase the scope of the domestic market and ensure affordable prices for the population.
