Epidemiological investigations into the deaths of doctors working with COVID-19 patients have begun. This was reported to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the traditional conference call on preventing the spread of coronavirus.
Once the cause of death of doctors is established, it will be possible to make insurance payments to their families initiated by the Head of State.
“We have to move with insurance payments faster than COVID-19. And this applies not only to those who lost loved ones due to the fight against the pandemic, but also to doctors who sacrificed their health," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed.
Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov who returned from a working trip to the western regions of Ukraine, said additional 300 tests a day would be conducted in the Lviv region to monitor the situation more closely and avoid queues. He also added that the Ministry of Health was considering the issue of providing medicines to medical institutions and their readiness for a possible second wave of coronavirus. In addition, Maksym Stepanov said that they would consider changing the funding of packages to help patients with COVID-19.
