Deputy Head of the Office of the President, Ihor Zhovkva, met with the Minister for Finance of Denmark, Nicolai Wammen.
Ihor Zhovkva emphasized Denmark's significant contribution to Ukraine's defense against Russian aggression. The total amount of assistance provided exceeds EUR 8.3 billion.
The meeting primarily focused on Ukraine's defense needs and the vision for reliable security guarantees.
“We must strengthen pan-European efforts to enhance our collective security. The security of Europe is our shared responsibility. Therefore, Europe must be at the table of any negotiations on the restoration of a just peace in Ukraine,” the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office stressed.
Another main topic of discussion was Ukraine's progress toward EU membership, which will be a key priority during Denmark's upcoming Presidency of the EU Council in the second half of this year.
“All the practical prerequisites for the opening of three clusters are now in place. We are counting on the political unity of all EU countries in supporting a fair negotiation process on Ukraine's accession to the EU,” Ihor Zhovkva concluded.
