In Munich, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with President of the European Council António Costa and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and thanked them for supporting Ukraine.
The Head of State provided an update on his conversations with U.S. President Donald Trump and European leaders. Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that now is the time when it is crucial to coordinate joint efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace.
The President emphasized that the future of European security is being decided right now in Ukraine. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a joint position with all allies in Europe.
Special emphasis was placed on strengthening sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation and preparing the 16th sanctions package. Ukraine expects it to significantly limit Russia's ability to continue financing the war.
In addition, the parties discussed progress in Ukraine's EU accession negotiations. Our state expects three clusters to be opened under Poland’s EU Council Presidency.
