During a working trip to the Kirovohrad region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke with residents of Kropyvnytskyi.
The citizens complained to the Head of State that the region was abandoned. They blamed local authorities for the problems, including incumbent mayor Andriy Raikovych and former RSA Head Andriy Balon.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy received complaints about non-payment of pensions to the military, illegal and inefficient work of law enforcement officers in the region, corruption among city government officials, as well as impossibility to privatize housing.
"We do not have a law enforcement system. They are fooling you," the people of Kropyvnytskyi said.
The President noted that within his powers he is doing everything possible to change the situation in the region. Therefore, a new head of the regional state administration Andriy Nazarenko will be appointed.
According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the region should have the same manager as other regions.
At the same time, he stressed that the issue of changing mayors is within the competence of citizens only, and they will be able to do so in local elections.
The President also promised to contribute to the improvement of the judicial and law enforcement systems, within which many issues should be resolved.
