Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine held a meeting with the Secretary General of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Moldova

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak met with Secretary General of the Office of the President of the Republic of Moldova Cristina Gherasimov.

Andriy Yermak noted Moldova's solidarity with the people of Ukraine in the face of continued Russian aggression and emphasized the joint aspirations of the two countries to build modern, successful states that will occupy a worthy place in the single European family.

"We count on mutual support and cooperation on this path," said the Head of the President's Office.

In this regard, he suggested closer coordination of the efforts of the two states on the way to full membership in the EU.

"Our goal is to complete the implementation of EU recommendations as soon as possible and start negotiations on accession," Andriy Yermak emphasized.

Discussing Russian terror and continued missile attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, the Head of the President's Office emphasized the direct threat of missile attacks to the security of Moldova.

"Russia is waging a hybrid war against Moldova. Destabilizing the domestic political situation and energy blackmail are traditional Russian methods," noted Andriy Yermak.

During the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged views on the need to further increase sanctions pressure on Moscow and expressed readiness to strengthen cooperation in the context of countering challenges from Russia. The parties discussed the practical aspects of implementing a number of joint infrastructure projects.

The Head of the Office of the President separately thanked the interlocutor for the latest statements of President of Moldova Maia Sandu and the decision of the country's parliament to recognize the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as a genocide of Ukrainians.

"We highly appreciate this decision of our Moldovan partners, which is particularly important today," emphasized Andriy Yermak.
