The government is consulting on the necessity of a lockdown

Representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers responsible for preventing the spread of coronavirus infection, including the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture, the Ministry of the Interior, and the National Security and Defense Council, will meet today to forecast the development of the epidemic situation and determine when to implement full lockdown if necessary. The results will be announced as soon as possible to inform people in advance and to prepare in terms of the economy and the provision of services to the population. This was discussed at a traditional conference call chaired by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on preventing the spread of coronavirus infection.

"We need to make realistic predictions to understand whether our medical system and our economy can withstand the pressure. We have developed an economic assistance program, we are constantly improving the healthcare system. Both businesses and people need to be ready if the government considers that strict quarantine cannot be avoided,” the President said.

At the same time, the latest developments were discussed. It was reported that the funds for the purchase of antigen tests have been unblocked since Monday and their purchase will begin today. In the absence of a family doctor or the impossibility of meeting with him, Ukrainians can call the hotline of the Ministry of Health, where they will receive a consultation; if necessary, a mobile team will come to them, Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov said.

Chief of the National Police Ihor Klymenko informed that law enforcers had drawn up 8,600 reports for violating the mask regime.
