The Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine met with a delegation of French senators headed by Cédric Perrin, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and the Armed Forces.
Ihor Zhovkva thanked France for its continued comprehensive support for our country and emphasized the important role of the French Parliament in this regard.
He emphasized France's leadership in making strategic decisions on Ukraine's European integration, in particular regarding the start of negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU. The Deputy Head of the Presidential Office praised the meaningful bilateral dialogue on security commitments in the context of the G7 Joint Declaration of Support for Ukraine of July 12, 2023.
Ihor Zhovkva also noted France's significant contribution to strengthening Ukraine's security and defense capabilities, in particular through combat training of Ukrainian military personnel.
"We highly appreciate the military assistance provided by France to our country, as well as the readiness of the French side to join the training of Ukrainian pilots on Western fighter jets in early 2024," the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office said.
Ihor Zhovkva thanked for the active participation of French defense companies in the Defense Industries Forum held in Kyiv on September 29 this year. The importance of further deepening Ukrainian-French cooperation in the defense sector and implementing relevant joint projects was emphasized, following up on the agreements between the Presidents of Ukraine and France.
