Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva held a meeting with Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Ukraine Elmira Akhundova.
Ihor Zhovkva noted that despite the coronavirus pandemic, Ukraine and Azerbaijan managed to maintain the high dynamics of bilateral dialogue and continue to implement the initiatives identified by the heads of state following the official visit of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Azerbaijan in December 2019. The Deputy Head of the Office of the President stressed the importance of further implementation of a number of joint projects by the two countries, primarily in the fields of energy and infrastructure.
Elmira Akhundova reaffirmed Azerbaijan's willingness to deepen practical cooperation with Ukraine in all areas of mutual interest. During a meeting, special attention was paid to discussing the modalities of implementation of projects in the cultural and humanitarian sphere by the two countries.
The interlocutors also discussed the possibility of organizing an official visit of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Ukraine after the stabilization of the situation with coronavirus.
