Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva met with the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Moldova on Defense and National Security, Secretary of the Supreme Security Council Stanislav Secrieru, who is on a visit to Ukraine.
The Deputy Head of the Presidential Office congratulated Stanislav Secrieru on his recent appointment to these important positions and expressed gratitude for making one of the first foreign visits to Ukraine, which testifies to the firm support of our country by the Republic of Moldova and its readiness to further enhance bilateral cooperation.
The parties praised the intensity of Ukrainian-Moldovan contacts at the high and top levels, as well as the willingness to maintain this dynamic.
During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on current issues of regional security, challenges and threats from Russia to the Republic of Moldova, taking into account Ukraine's longstanding experience in countering hybrid threats from Russia. In this context, the need to intensify cooperation in the field of information exchange on security issues was emphasized.
Ihor Zhovkva raised the issue of further expanding practical assistance to Ukraine from the Republic of Moldova in the fight against Russian aggression.
The Deputy Head of the Office of the President thanked the Moldovan side for its participation in the implementation of certain points of the Ukrainian Peace Formula on energy and food security.
The parties emphasized the importance of further European integration steps by both countries in the context of the publication of the European Commission's assessment within the Enlargement Package and the European Council's decision to start EU membership negotiations at the end of this year.
The parties also discussed further activities at the level of the leadership of the two countries.
