On the instructions of the President of Ukraine and the Head of the Presidential Office, another round of consultations with the United Kingdom was held today on the conclusion of a bilateral agreement on security commitments, as envisaged by the Joint Declaration of Support for Ukraine.
The Ukrainian delegation was led by Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva. The delegation also included Deputy Head of the Office of the President Roman Mashovets, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mykola Tochytskyi, and representatives of the Ministry of Defense.
"The second round of consultations reflected the progress we have made since the launch of bilateral security negotiations. The United Kingdom plays an important role in strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities, its economic and financial stability, as well as in gradually bringing our country closer to NATO membership, which will be the most reliable guarantee for us," emphasized Ihor Zhovkva.
The parties analyzed the main elements of security commitments and agreed on a work plan for the near future with the aim of speeding up the conclusion of the relevant agreement.
The Deputy Head of the Presidential Office and head of the British delegation Nick Catsaras also discussed the strengthening of bilateral relations between Ukraine and the United Kingdom, the implementation of the Peace Formula and the schedule of further contacts at the level of leaders.
