Ihor Zhovkva discussed intensification of bilateral cooperation with Advisor to the Prime Minister of Albania

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva had a phone conversation with Political Advisor, Director of Communications at the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania Endri Fuga.

First of all, Ihor Zhovkva conveyed words of sincere support to the Albanian people due to the ongoing forest fires in this country, and expressed hope for the successful overcoming of their devastating consequences.

The Deputy Head of the Office of the President also congratulated Endri Fuga on the election of Albania as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the period of 2022-2023. He thanked the interlocutor for Albania's clear support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders, and briefed on the current security situation in the east of our country and the humanitarian and security situation in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

During the conversation, special attention was paid to the topic of Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration. Ihor Zhovkva thanked Albania for supporting the position of our country in preparing the communiqué of the NATO Summit, which took place on June 14, 2021 in Brussels.

The interlocutors also expressed mutual interest in maintaining active interpersonal contacts between the countries, especially given the role of Albania as an important tourist destination for Ukrainians. Ihor Zhovkva thanked the Albanian side for preserving travel opportunities for Ukrainian citizens in the face of severe pandemic restrictions.

The Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine and the Advisor to the Prime Minister of Albania coordinated their positions on the high-level events planned in the near future.
