Ihor Zhovkva and Diplomatic Advisor to Spanish Prime Minister discussed preparation of bilateral political dialogue measures

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva had a phone conversation with Diplomatic Advisor to the Prime Minister of Spain Emma Aparici.

During the conversation, special attention was paid to the aggravation of the security situation in eastern Ukraine and the increase in the activity of Russian troops on the borders of our state. Emma Aparici noted the Spanish side's concern over the latest developments and assured of clear support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In the context of the bilateral agenda, the parties positively assessed the results of the phone conversation between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Spain Pedro Sánchez, which took place in January. Ihor Zhovkva and Emma Aparici exchanged views on the key elements and content of the forthcoming official visit of the Spanish Prime Minister to Ukraine. The interlocutors agreed on the importance of speeding up work on draft bilateral documents that can be signed during the visit.

Ihor Zhovkva informed about the situation in the temporarily occupied Crimea and the goals of the Ukrainian initiative to create a Crimean Platform. He expressed hope that the Spanish side would take part in the inaugural summit of the Crimean Platform at the highest possible government level.
