Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva held a video meeting with Permanent Under-Secretary of State, Head of the Foreign Policy Department at the Office of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Denmark Jean-Charles Ellermann-Kingombe.
The diplomatic adviser to the President of Ukraine informed his Danish counterpart about the aggravation of the security situation on the Ukrainian-Russian border and in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
For his part, Jean-Charles Ellermann-Kingombe expressed condolences over the deaths of the Ukrainian military in the east of our country and assured that Denmark supported Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also noted the wise and balanced position of our state in response to the provocations of the Russian Federation.
The situation with the COVID-19 pandemic and the steps taken by the governments of both countries to counter its spread were also discussed. In this context, the parties agreed on further cooperation in ensuring the vaccination of citizens.
The interlocutors also discussed cooperation between Ukraine and Denmark in the field of European integration of our country. In this regard, considerable attention was paid to reforms in Ukraine, including the fight against corruption.
Ihor Zhovkva informed the Danish side in detail about the initiative of the Crimean Platform, which aims to return the issue of Crimea to the international agenda. The Deputy Head of the President's Office expressed hope that Denmark would be represented at the highest possible level during the inaugural summit of the Crimean Platform in August.
