On the instructions of the President of Ukraine and the head of the Office of the President, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva held talks with the foreign policy advisors of the prime ministers of Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Iceland.
The deputy head of the Office of the President noted the significant contribution of these countries to the approaching victory of Ukraine and emphasized the importance of further deepening cooperation and coordination of efforts to strengthen the political and practical support of our country in the fight against Russian aggression.
The interlocutors focused on the issues of expanding defense support to Ukraine and speeding up the supply of the necessary weapons and ammunition for this purpose.
Preparations for Ukraine's participation in the Vilnius NATO Summit and its expected results were discussed separately, in particular, the provision of security guarantees to our country before joining the Alliance. Zhovkva briefed the interlocutors on the readiness of Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak to provide Ukraine's vision regarding the scope and specific mechanisms for implementing such guarantees, which are reflected in the Kyiv Security Compact developed by the Yermak-Rasmussen international expert group.
The parties also paid attention to the issue of the Ukrainian Peace Formula, in particular the need to involve the widest possible range of participants in its implementation and preparation for the Global Peace Summit.
"The countries of Northern Europe show unwavering support and determination in many important areas of cooperation with Ukraine. Our cooperation will only strengthen," Zhovkva said.
