On the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine who died in the struggle for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy laid flowers to the Wall of Remembrance of the Fallen for Our State located on Triokhsviatytelska Street in Kyiv.
The ceremony of honoring the fallen defenders was also attended by Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmytro Razumkov and Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
The Day of Remembrance of Defenders of Ukraine who died in the struggle for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine was established in 2019 by decree of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy № 621/2019. This decision was made in order to properly honor the memory of servicemen and members of volunteer formations who died in the struggle for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state, perpetuating their heroism and strengthening the patriotic spirit in society.
