On the Day of Victory over Nazism, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War and watched the exhibitions "History of the Second World War" and "Ukraine. The Unfinished War".
Director General of the museum Ivan Kovalchuk and head of the department of scientific and educational work Dmytro Hainetdinov showed the exhibition "Ukrainian East" to the Head of State.
This exhibition has been established and developed since 2015. It presents objects and artifacts that reveal the personal stories not only of soldiers who defended the territorial integrity of Ukraine, but also of civilians who found themselves in hostilities.
The President left a note in the book of distinguished guests, in which he thanked the museum staff for preserving our history.
"It's impressive, powerful and dreadful. Thank you for preserving the history. This is our history. These are our people. Our heroes, our victories and losses. We are the winners of World War II, but with the loss of 8 million people. May the memory of them live forever," the Head of State wrote.
