President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his wife Olena took part in awarding the laureates of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine 2021.
"I am glad to be here with my wife and see the transformation of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine. It is very important to see the high status of this award. The award ceremony takes place in the landmarks of Ukraine," the President said, congratulating the winners.
The President stressed that this year Ukraine celebrates a number of important anniversaries. In particular, the 30th anniversary of the Armed Forces, the 25th anniversary of the Constitution, the 75th anniversary of the Antonov state enterprise, the anniversary of Lesya Ukrainka and the 60th anniversary of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine.
"It is symbolic that this is happening in the year of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence. These are the main symbols of Ukraine - our Constitution, our army, our aviation, our culture, our Taras Shevchenko Prize - the prize of every Ukrainian. Congratulations on this anniversary," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
