President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated the employees and veterans of the Security Service of Ukraine on their professional holiday and the 29th anniversary of the Security Service of Ukraine.
The President noted the importance of protecting Ukraine's national security and thanked the employees of the Security Service of Ukraine for their daily hard and large-scale work.
"It is your special service that closes the widest field of action, responding to threats throughout Ukraine: in peaceful cities, on the frontline, and in the occupied territories," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his greeting.
Among the achievements of the Security Service of Ukraine, the President mentioned the detention of terrorists, prevention of terrorist attacks, counteraction to information threats and foreign agents, elimination of powerful criminal groups and tax "twists" worth billions of hryvnias.
"One can talk a lot and for a long time about your achievements, but you and I know them well. Moreover, I am sure that thanks to your principles you do not work for beautiful statistics. And not for your own glory, but for the glory of Ukraine," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The Head of State also drew attention to the victories of officials, which, in his opinion, could have been unfairly left out of the attention of citizens.
"I would like to note the high merit of the Security Service of Ukraine in collecting and preparing materials for the latest decisions of the National Security and Defense Council. Without your work, the long-awaited restoration of justice for Ukrainians would be impossible," the President stressed.
According to him, among the strategic tasks of the Security Service of Ukraine is the reform and transformation of the Security Service in accordance with the model of the world's best special services, as well as preparation for the deoccupation of Donbas.
"I am confident that thanks to your knowledge, experience and courage, all these tasks will be fulfilled," the President summed up.
The President thanked the special service officials for their hard work, courage, patriotism and loyalty to the oath, and wished them and their families good health and prosperity.
