President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed the Hero of Ukraine, Colonel Oleksandr Pivnenko as the commander of the National Guard. The Head of State announced this during a visit to the Western Territorial Administration of the National Guard as part of his working trip to Lviv region.
Speaking before the staff, Zelenskyy said that Colonel Pivnenko is a strong soldier of the National Guard of Ukraine who distinguished himself in the battles against the Russian invaders, in particular, in the battles for Bakhmut in Donetsk region.
"I appointed the Hero of Ukraine, Oleksandr Pivnenko, as the commander of the National Guard of Ukraine. Commander! I wish you and all of Ukraine the liberation of our entire land, the return of all our people, the desired victory," the President said, addressing Pivnenko.
