As part of a working trip to the Zaporizhzhia region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the state-owned enterprise Iskra Research and Production Complex, which is part of the Ukroboronprom group of companies.
The President got himself acquainted with the main indicators and the concept of corporatization of Ukroboronprom, which has already started and envisages the transformation of the group of companies into modern holding companies, as well as the introduction of a corporate governance system. The President inspected the assembly shop and watched the latest models of radar systems and complexes manufactured by the company.
"It's a wonderful plant. It is one of the few today, which has no debts, a profitable plant. The issue with our new Director General of Ukroboronprom Yuriy Gusev to increase the state defense order for 2021 for Ukroboronprom enterprises has been resolved today,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.
The President of Ukraine stressed that the potential for increasing the state defense order is significant.
The Director General of Ukroboronprom asked the President to define as urgent draft law № 3822 "On the peculiarities of reforming state-owned defense industry enterprises”.
"It is backed by the government, has already been registered in the parliament and provides an opportunity to implement a major reform of Ukraine's defense industry," Yuriy Gusev emphasized.
