During a working trip to the Kharkiv region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy inspected from a helicopter the reconstruction of state and local roads in the region carried out in the framework of the National Program "Great Construction".
This year, 357 km of roads are planned to be repaired in the Kharkiv region: 281 km of state roads and 76 km of local roads.
As of September 1, 200 km of the upper layer of the road surface on state roads and 76 km on local roads have been laid.
In particular, repair is being completed at four long-term construction sites. This is a section of the route M-03 Kyiv - Kharkiv - Dovzhansky (from the bypass road of Kharkiv to the border with the Donetsk region). The length of the road within the Kharkiv region is 130 km, 85 km of the highway will be renovated in 2020, and more than 300 km will be renovated in the country as a whole.
The work is also underway on the section of the highway H-26 Chuhuiv - Milove (from Chuhuiv to the border with the Luhansk region). The total length of the road in the Kharkiv region is 108 km. The plans for 2020 are to upgrade 68.4 km of the highway. Taking into account the repair of previous years and the current repair the road will be completely restored. It is one of the main transport arteries connecting the Kharkiv and Luhansk regions. In the Luhansk region, another 120 km will be restored on this road in 2020 at the initiative of the President.
"It is important that this road goes to Donbas, where we have territories that are temporarily out of our control. It is even symbolic - to build connecting roads," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The section of the route R-51 Merefa - Lozova - Pavlohrad (from the city of Merefa to the border with the Dnipropetrovsk region) is also being repaired. The length of the highway in the region is 132 km. This year, 60.7 km of the upper layer of asphalt concrete was laid.
It is planned to upgrade 23.2 km of the road on the section of the highway T-21-04 Kharkiv - Vovchans'k - "Chuhunivka" checkpoint. The work begins in September.
The restoration of 12 bridges is also planned in the Kharkiv region, the work on four of them has already begun.
